该剧改编自DC漫画，讲述雷蒙德·雷·特里尔(Raymond·Ray·Terrill)运用光能维护正义的故事。Plot Summary:Earth X is one of many realities in the multiverse, with one glaring difference from our Earth; the Nazis won World War II! Led by The Ray, it is here that a group of heroes known as the Freedom Fighters lead the battle against tyranny. But when The Ray is transported to our Earth to save his life, he passes his powers to his unsuspecting counterpart, Ray Terrill. Supercharged with super human abilities, this newly christened The Ray must adapt and overcome the challenges of crime fighting, albeit with a little help from The Flash and Green Arrow. Ray乃一个超级Gay
和去年推雌狐（Vixen）登场时几乎是一样的套路：先通过两季泡面番引出角色，再将素材重新剪辑成一部动画电影。剧集本身的质量并不算太差，但最终的电影版可以说是毫无诚意，角色所附带的象征意义（前者是第一位出柜的超级英雄，而后者是第一位黑人女性超级英雄）甚至比他们本身更加重要。在特殊的时代背景下，这些边缘角色在DC的推动下得以走至台前，只可惜很难独当一面，终究是一波波浪潮下的“牺牲品”。
精彩的片段不多，二维制作有点怀旧感
没什么特色的英雄，前面的铺垫又太长，最终战斗也很敷衍。
还好纳粹那边有纳粹女超人、闪电“侠”与绿箭“侠”，不然这各种自由战士的超级英雄打纳粹就是手撕鬼子的画风了，剧情上扩展了DC的平行世界，另外这是DC第一个出柜的超级英雄也有另外的附加意义
故事还行，就是剧情有点低幼，极其缺乏打磨，打架输赢全看导演心情。不过很多熟悉的声音和面孔还是挺有感觉的，认出了震波。
