作为一部mélo还是很好的，情节足够狗血，人物足够丰富和暧昧，虽然也是说教（结尾那里亲生母亲抱着娃直接拍成了三角形构图的圣象画……）但并没有对人物特别黑白分明，道德冲突是全面的。而且制作真的很好：而且无论剪辑还是服装和布景都非常精细，相比我看过的Sirk德国时期的其他几部电影，这部肯定是最精致的一部（后来这些德国电影界有才能的人就越来越多地都跑路去美国了）。开头在美国德国之间交错的情节、后面音乐会场内场外来回穿插的讲述，还有最后部分的梦境和法庭上的闪回，叙事上的追求非常值得肯定，比他三十年代的其他几部好太多。
